Public opinion research and program evaluation

Following are several areas in which we have conducted some of the largest and most challenging social research studies in Canada:
1. Labour market
Governments are involved in a wide range of training and related labour market programs. How effective are specific programs? Are specific target groups benefiting as programs intend? We have a demonstrated record of evaluating labour market programs using state-of-the-art analytical methods.
2. Regulatory impact studies/cost-benefit analysis
Government regulations often affect businesses and consumers. Prior to regulating, governments routinely try to determine the likely benefits and costs of particular regulatory approaches. We have carried out a number of regulatory impact assessments for regulations governing workplace safety, hazardous products and various environmental improvements.
3. International Business Development
We use group facilitation combined with a deep knowledge of both performance measurement and strategic planning principles, to assist clients develop logic models and Results-based Management Accountability Frameworks. We have also helped develop results-based business plans for the international business development program in more than 30 missions abroad.
4. The environment
As the environment is increasingly viewed as a valuable resource, measures to protect the environment bring value to Canadians. But there are also costs associated with environmental protection and the linkages between energy and environment are complex. We provide clients a thorough understanding of the costs and benefits to help them reach sound decisions for action.
5. Healthcare
The demand for and the cost of health care are increasing. We have worked closely with clients to model resource requirements and funding alternatives. We have also evaluated alternative approaches to the delivery of services in Ontario and elsewhere.
